IM Amon Simutowe has been on a hectic traveling schedule having just completed a trip to Trinidad & Tobago. There he participated in a number of interviews and provided the local community with a glimpse of his talent. After scoring 6½-1½ at CMMB Caribbean Chess Championships, the Zambian master made his way to the Netherlands to take part in the Euwe International, a tournament that he has anticipated for some time.
The field is prominent because of the legendary figures such as Argentinean legend Oscar Panno, former FIDE President Fridrik Olafsson of Iceland and former women's World Champion, Nona Gaprindashvili of the Republic of Georgia. Indian Grandmaster Dibyendu Barua is the top seed and the field boasts an interesting mix of players. Should be interesting!
