Chess in 2022 heating up the Sunshine State!
Wyndham Orlando Resort (International Drive)
From March 13th-15th, Florida “the sunshine state” will be hosting its statewide scholastic tournament with nine sections. The entry fee for scholastic players is a nominal $40 by February 25th. There is no onsite entry so make your plans ahead of time! Check floridachess.org for details or click on image below to download the flyer!
Florida is known as the “sunshine state,” but the past few weeks have been uncharacteristically chilly with north Florida temperatures dipping down in the 20s. However, there are signs that things are warming up and chess is going to help. As the effects of the COVID pandemic begins to subside, chess will hopefully return to normal in 2022.
The Wyndham Orlando Resort has been host to many of Florida’s chess tournaments and of course, is centrally located in the state. Bryan Tillis, a board member of the Florida Chess Association, is the organizer. He can be reached at byran@floridachess.org. Bring your crew… register at chessregister.com!
