The Chess Drum competing for several  Journalist Awards

The Chess Journalists of America (CJA) is holding its annual awards competition and this year's list boasts stiff competition with some of the most venerable and respected journalists in the business. 

This year marks the 4th CJA Awards and the competition is fierce featuring many repeat entrants such as U.S. Chess Life, Chess Horizons, and Georgia Chess. One new face among the entrants is The Chess Drum, launched in February of last year. As this was the first year that Internet entrants were accepted, The Drum will be added to the list with the other traditional magazines. The Chess Drum is in the running in the following categories:

The voting is to be conducted by CJA Members only! "Chess Journalist of the Year" will be chosen by each  member with a valid membership while the other categories will be chosen by a panel of judges. Below is the entire listing of entrants in the CJA competition and represent some insightful work from those journalists with a passion for chess. Results are forthcoming!!
