Easily identified by his oversized Cubs cap, Jayel Taylor is beginning to make waves in the world of scholastic chess. In the age of child chess prodigies, perhaps it is becoming apparent that the earlier one starts a mind sport, the quicker spatial and cognitive skills develop.
Jayel has been playing since the age of two and plays at the Chicago Kids Chess Club. The affable 4-year old was featured in a short CBS interview where he gives a crash lesson on chess and basic rules. His beaming parents Freddie and Krystal Taylor are also interviewed. Jayel enthusiasm is infectious and this is perhaps the beginning of great things. Click on link below!
