The Barbados Championship has started off with a bang. There have been several upsets. Without IM Kevin Denny defending his crown, an unexpected leader has emerged in Barbados Junior Champion, Martyn Del Castilho. FM Delisle Warner, FM Philip Corbin and NM Terry Farley have been slowed thus far. Warner was toppled by Justin Kirton one round after he and Corbin had a bench-clearing brawl in round two. In round three, Warner was shocked by Justin Kirton after missing a mate. Kirton converted the queen vs. rook ending for the upset victory. The games have been exciting and the Barbados Chess Federation invites you to join them during the times below at https://barbados.org/chess/tomabcf/tfd.htm.
