Lesley-Ann Nelson has released another video of seven-year old Ronnie Nelson at the Pan-Am tournament in Cuenca, Ecuador. The video is featured on "You-Tube" and runs just under five minutes. It features some interesting images of the players, the venue and the spectators. Apparently there were issues with making the conditions comfortable as it was winter in Ecuador and the participants were seen wearing coats and gloves inside the venue.
Due to other visa problems, Ronnie missed the first round and after a strong series of games, ended on a 5-4 score. He also represented Trinidad and Tobago at the Central American and Caribbean Chess Festival in El Salvador where he ended on 3˝-3˝. As the under-10 national representative, he was the youngest at both tournaments and was recently featured on NACC morning show where he described his international experiences.

Lesley-Ann Nelson told The Chess Drum that the video theme song "We're Not Giving Up," is by top Trinidadian artist Machel Montano. Also featured in the upbeat tune is New York rap legend, Doug E. Fresh (originally from Barbados). At the end of the video are "chess stars" of Tri-Miami International Chess Academy including 2006 Junior Champion, Marcus Joseph. Members of the academy are currently participating in First Citizens Bank Primary School Championship. Ronnie Nelson, a member of the academy, plays for Arima Boys' R.C. and has led his team to 2nd place with 3˝-˝. Tunapuna Boys R.C. currently hold 3rd place on the strength of members, Keno Samuel 4-0, Akeenie Murray 4-0, Kevin Mahabir 3-1 and Stephan Pierre 2-2. The second half of the tournament is forthcoming.
