Ronnie, "RJ" Nelson has become a regular to viewers of The Chess Drum. The 6-year old has been getting lots of local press lately including write-ups in the Trinidadian Guardian and the recent profile in Busy Bee for Kids.
The feature article discussed RJ's beginning in chess and his participation in a variety of tournaments. He has played in mostly local tournaments and several in the U.S. Some of the facts pointed out in the article were that Nelson is a youth advocate in the fight against HIV/AIDS. His manager and aunt, Lesley-ann Nelson states,
"The key thing with Ronnie is that whatever he does, he approaches it vigorously, committed and excited, giving 100%." (Click on images)
