Team Profile

Nigeria has met success in Olympiad tournament as seen when  IM Odion Aikhoje won a gold medal on board #2 in the Elista tournament. Last year, Nigeria won a team prize (26 points)  despite missing the first round and getting a 2-point bye in the second.

This year the team is without Aikhoje or team's leading scorer in Bled Adebayo Adegboyega (7-4). This year the "Eagles" will be led by Bunmi Olape (2304). Nigeria  saw a high point when it played host to the 8th All-Africa Games which featured the African Championships.
