Barbados releases 2013 Calendar!

The Barbados Chess Federation has released its calendar for 2013 ending with its national championship in October and Michael Forde Memorial in November. The calendar covers both youth and senior tournaments as well as participation abroad. The Heroes Day Cup in April is probably the island’s marquee event that will attract international players. It is a nine-round FIDE-rated event that has attracted players from the Caribbean, Latin America and the U.S. The first tournament his year will be the Margaret Prince tournament next weekend on January 18th-21st. It is a seven-round Swiss.
